These balcony staterooms are nautical themed and located in a specific area onboard. Most of the time, you will have a lifeboat directly below your stateroom, which would partially block your view. Generally speaking, Carnival does not have an abundance of obstructed view balconies, but you will save some money by booking one of these balcony variations. The largest suites sleep up to eight and wrap around the side of the ship with 772 square feet of outdoor space. You can hold a party at your outdoor bar or sit down to an alfresco, room-service dinner. With all balcony cabins, you can just throw on your bathrobe to catch views of wildlife or of your ship pulling into port. Keep in mind when you step outside that your balcony might not be entirely private — your neighbors might be able to see you (as will the ship's security team via hidden cameras).
With the prevalence of this cabin type, it is easier to find the location you want, in comparison to less common categories such as ocean view staterooms. Additionally, each evening the bunk bed would come down from the ceiling for the fourth bed to be used. Compared to our inside cabin, the bunk bed in the extended balcony stateroom was not visible during the day and did not take up space until it was being used. On older Carnival ships (and, in general, all older cruise ships), there are far fewer balcony cabins.

The takeaway here is that you'll have a tougher time locking down a balcony cabin on an older Carnival ship than on a newer vessel. One drawback of the stateroom was the lack of outlets or USBs near the bed. Continuing further into the room, there is a flat screen television mounted to the wall. We never tested out the television, but it was positioned so it could be viewed from either the bed or the sofa. The storage space here is maximized for families with a few configurations possible.
